QPAD's two latest mousepads represent very different types of mousing surfaces. Do QPAD's offerings live up to the standard set by the excellent products in our Mousepad Roundup? ![]() With a far reaching reputation for delivering superior products, and a noteworthy repertoire of sponsored teams, QPAD, much like Razer, has grown tremendously in recent years to become one of the big names in the mousepad industry. QPAD prides itself on its ‘grassroots commitment to the gaming community.’ Indeed, QPAD has been a presence at local and international LAN parties, tournaments, and events since its incepetion and has even started up its own “Q-Tour”, a modestly sized series of events that, perhaps more so than any other, embodies the spirit of gaming and sportsmanship. QPAD’s involvement in the gaming scene has provided them with an untold amount of input from professional gamers around the globe, including Johan “Vesslan” Ryman, former Team9 superstar and current QPAD business consultant. *There was formerly a statement here about QPAD development input that has since been removed due to it being incorrect. Gotfrag Hardware apologizes for stating this false information.* We recently received two mousepads from QPAD, the CT and their new hard surface, the XT-R. QPAD|CT Manufacturer: QPAD Type of pad: Soft Material: Hybratek™ coated cloth Size: 15.95" x 11.23" x 4mm thick Price: $25.00 Gallery: Here QPAD’s second most recent product, the CT represents a relatively untouched style of surfaces: coated cloth mousepads. This is the very first such mousepad we have tested at Gotfrag Hardware, and hopefully it won’t be the last. What exactly is a coated cloth mousead? Well, to put it as simply as possible, it is just a normal cloth mousepad that has a very thin, clear, plastic-like coating on it. QPAD calls the material they use “Hybratek™ coating”. |
