FPSLabs Home: CoolIT Freezone TEC Cooler Review

Our time with the Freezone CPU cooler has been a fun one. We’re currently running our rig at 2.6GHz constantly without a care in the world with regards to temperatures. When we received the unit, the list price was $399. Since then, it’s online price has dropped to just above $300. At $399, it’d be hard to recommend this cooler, but at $300, it’s a no brainer for the overclocker among us. A $300 budget will buy you the absolute best water cooling kits out there, and it’ll bring your processor temps very close to the ambient temperature of your room. It will also be huge, and probably too bulky to even fit well in our own CM Stacker case, one of the largest on the market right now. Or, for the same price, you can by the Freezone. The Freezone will offer you much better cooling, and it will be a much smaller unit. It will come preassembled and sealed tight enough to keep any leaks from forming. It will consume a relatively small amount of power. And it will be just as silent. If you’re looking into the water cooling market, get this guy. If you’re an overclocker, get this guy. Or if you just want to keep your CPU as cool as possible for $300, get this guy.
