FPSLabs Home: GFHW Exclusive: SteelKeys 6G Review

Conclusion
Perhaps the only reservations we have about the SteelKeys 6G is its price. At an unofficial price of $130 USD, it is far more expensive than any wired keyboard on the market, and nearly twice as exepensive as the Logitech G15. While the price is high, you really do get what you pay for. However, we think it will be quite difficult for gamers to shell out $130 for a keyboard, even if they know it will be worth it in the end.

With its simplistic, stylish, and professional design, the SteelKeys 6G is exactly the keyboard we would expect out of SteelSeries. We have been impressed with SteelSeries products before, the SteelPad QcK+ got our highest score on record for a cloth mousepad, but the SteelKeys 6G is just a product that is on an entirely different level than the competition. We have reviewed two other gaming keyboards in the past, the Saitek Eclipse and the Logitech G15, and they both received perfect 10 out of 10 scores. The SteelKeys 6G only receives a 9.8 out of 10, but only because we cannot not dock points for the price point. We tried our best to dock some points from the SteelKeys 6G for other reasons, but there really is no way around it: The SteelKeys 6G keyboard from SteelSeries is beyond doubt the best gaming keyboard we have ever used. Well done SteelSeries, very well done.
