Conclusions Although we have not reviewed any other full-sized steel towers to compare it against, we can say with relative certainty that the Vigor Force is a good choice for a gamer looking for a 52lbs tank of a PC. The ventilation achieved within the case is far superior to that of any of the others we have tested by virtue of ventilation capacity alone. The three fans within the case keep air moving directly through the case, minimizing entropy and maximizing efficiency. This does, however, come at the cost of being relatively loud in comparison with most of the other cases we have tested, particularly the Antec P180B and Antec SOLO. As far as price is concerned, the $189.95 USD that Vigor is asking for this case seems about right to us, but it is probably a little high. You will not find a full tower, heavy duty steel case for this price with the same ventilation properties as the Force, but you can find cases with similar features for significantly less money; the Raidmax Simlodon for instance. The Force will be available very soon at online retailers like mwave and Newegg. While the individual features of this case, especially the water lights, are very cool, they are not, individually, something to write home about. They are, however, quite significant when you realize that all of these amenities are packaged so well together. From the cable management to the ventilation, to the tool-less design and advanced lighting, this is a very solid entry in the PC enclosure market. In fact, we have no choice but to bite our lips and say that the Vigor Force™ Screw-Less Gaming Case is a Force to be reckoned with. Pros + The case is quite large and easy to work with + Three included 120mm fans facilitate generally quiet airflow + Ventilation in the case is superb, thanks to the mesh front bezel and ample vents + Appearance of the case is quite stylish + Front connector panel is well designed and implemented + Truly tool-less design allows for amazingly fast installation + Unique “water effect” blinking LED lights create a stunning visual effect + Holes and ridges throughout the case provide intuitive and effective cable management Cons - The three LED fans blink annoyingly when not running at full speed, but they are quite loud when they are. **See statement in section titled "Sound", above** - The case, when fully assembled or otherwise, is extremely heavy. - Price seems a bit too high Rating 8.3 out of 10 **If we were to adjust the score based on the news we received from Vigor about the fans, it would probably be closer to an 8.9. The high level of sound generated by the fans we recieved really was a significant problem with the case in our eyes. We will be testing the case with the fans that ship with it in the near future. A further update will be posted shortly thereafter.** |
