The Fight Between Ergonomics and Looks
When placing the mouse under your hand it does not feel very awkward as the looks make you think it will. It does look strange, but it is far more awkward of a feeling to go from a small, thin mouse like the Razer Diamondback to a large mouse like the G5 and vice versa. It is an balanced size mice and was surprisingly easier to adjust than I thought it would be as compared to other mice.

I would not call this mouse a strict “finger” mouse. Its wideness allows for similar comfort and control as “palm” mice provide, but it does not interfere or limit wrist movement to the right like larger palm mice do. It has the wide area to place most of your fingers on, yet is easy to grip it with you thumb and pinky fingers. It is tall enough to feel the mouse under the right top side of your palm, yet small enough to not reach the bottom area of your palm towards your wrist. I believe this is what makes the mouse great for control and comfort, but this also makes it look very unusual and unattractive. In the pictures you can see the difference between the grip on a 2020 and a palm mouse like the MX510 (notice the upright, quicker to click finger position on the 2020 versus the more prone position on the MX510).

I do not like looking at this mouse for too long, but I do like how it feels under my hand. It seems like it was indeed a very hard task to make this mouse look nice while not sacrificing its main purpose, ergonomics and control. It fails miserably at being something you’d showoff for its looks. It looks like the Danny DeVito of of gaming mice, short and stocky.
