It's bigger, but is it better? GotFrag answers the question in this review of the new Steelseries mousepad: the QcK Heavy.


SteelSeries prides itself on being one of the best gaming peripheral companies out there. Nearly half a year ago, GotFrag Hardware published a review of the highly acclaimed SteelSeries QcK+ Mousepad. In this review, the QcK+ was proclaimed as, “…one of the best cloth mousepads on the market today.” Well, not to out do themselves, SteelSeries has released yet another pad to go with their successful QcK line: The QcK Heavy.

Packaging
Normally when people buy something, they are so excited that they just tear through the packaging, without noting the creativity and marketing schemes that companies go through. Since we, at GotFrag hardware, take every nuance into account when testing products; we do not fall prey to the "eager child on Christmas morning" syndrome like ordinary human beings. Instead, we inspected not only the QcK Heavy itself, but how it is presented in its packaging.

The QcK Heavy takes a big leap forward in the packaging department. The regular QcKs all arrive rolled up in a size appropriate cardboard box. This is not the case with the Heavy. While the pad does arrive rolled up, it is presented in a plastic tube, which is encased in a cardboard.
