After spotting him in a crowd, digitalSTU sits down with Ravi, co-founder of VoodooPC, to examine their brand and recent decision to align with Hewlett-Packard.


I was watching the end of the Alienware presentation, when I looked over and saw what was not just another press member. This gentleman was standing casually, hands in pockets, watching what was a very uneventful presentation. Most people walked by, unaware of who he was, but I knew exactly who I was looking at. This was the co-owner of one of the world's best and most innovative system builders, VoodooPC. I try to never hesitate and this situation was no exception. With a steady voice, I approached and introduced myself. Surprisingly, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a very down to earth attitude. After a few moments, I asked if I could have a few minutes of his time to ask some questions and he was more than happy to oblige. We headed over to the HP meeting rooms that were hilariously and coincidentally right next to the Alienware booth.

For those of you who are not aware of VoodooPC, I would like to congratulate you on living under a rock successfully. Voodoo has been a leading system builder since it started building performance computers 15 years ago. They have earned a reputation for building outstanding machines that not only perform well, but are individual works of art. They are famous for customizing every computer and assigning pit crews to build each computer individually with an extreme attention to detail. You could argue that they are expensive, but as Ravi's colleague stated "so is a Ferrari." These are the luxury PCs that many dream to own, and owners pride and cherish. They are the elite and refuse to compromise that.

Recently, they appeared in the news when HP made the purchase of VoodooPC. However, both Voodoo and HP consider this a very powerful alignment. I had my doubts regarding the alignment and was pretty sure this was only in response to Dell's recent purchase of Alienware. However, I couldn't be further from the truth. Needless to say, I had some questions and who better to answer those questions, but Ravi.
