Day 2 of the biggest consumer electronics trade show in the world!
Well, the second day of CES begins. We started the day by publishing our summary of yesterday. This was mostly due to a late night of “research” and “planning.” Over some breakfast, we decided that we should check out the exhibitors in the Sands/Venetian side of the convention. We grabbed a cab and found ourselves at one of the more exciting aspects of CES: the small companies. This is not to say that there weren’t big players in this hall, but the majority of the hall is composed of small booths with very different products. Everything from massage chairs to devices that coordinate light shows from the music on your iPod. You could quite literally find anything electronic in the halls of CES.

The notable companies that we were able to talk to were Patriot, Lian Li, Chieftec, CoolIT, GEIL, Tagan, MSI, and many others. We walked from booth to booth seeing such things as 2000W PSUs, shiny new case designs, rhinestone/leopard print laptops, stylish hard drive enclosures, and some of the most advanced cooling devices known to man. Everything is the latest and greatest and anyone who says that the best is hard to improve on should come see the innovative solutions and improvements that have come to the Consumer Electronics Show.

After spending hours on the show floor, I retired to the press room with my Zune to sit down and write about some of the things we have seen and organize the new contacts we have made. After much thought, my feelings were very close to those of Thomas’s yesterday. Overwhelmed is the best word to describe yourself when trying to sit down and organize your thoughts regarding the hundreds of cool things we just witnessed. After writing a piece or two, Thomas showed up at the press room and told me how he just talked to the folks over at Wolfking. They gave him a mouse for us to review. I’ll save the details for the review, but the main feature of this mouse is a turbo mode that turns one click into 4 shots. My first thought was whether a device like this would be allowed in any eSports tournament, but my second was whether anyone in the competitive realm would even consider such a device. Needless to say I found it interesting and plugged it into my laptop. Somehow I turned on the turbo mode and every time I clicked my taskbar, the window would fly up then down up and back down. This was unfortunate because I could not get my windows to appear. Clearly, this mouse was made for gaming only because the turbo would not turn off for the life of me.
