We finished up and decided to take a walk through the Venetian, which is connected to the Sands Expo Center. I have to say that I am torn between the Mirage and the Venetian as my favorite hotels in Las Vegas. To give you an idea of how amazing the Venetian is, you can take a look at today’s gallery. Just to note one thing, they have an entire replica of a Venice canal running through the hotel that you can take gondola rides on. I was thoroughly impressed with the décor. Here’s where things got interesting.

We went to find the front of the hotel to grab a cab home, but walked out the nearest exit instead. We figured we would walk a bit and hail a cab on the way. Yeah….that didn’t happen. We walked the entire way from the Venetian to Excalibur after having been on our feet all day. Now, this seemed like an endless walk and when we arrived at Excalibur, while miserable, we were proud of the fact that we had walked all that way.

Unfortunately, Google Maps would later tell us this distance was no more than 1.7 miles which would, in turn, make us feel horribly out of shape. The walk itself was not all that bad. It was a nice night out; we got to see almost the entire strip, and watched two sessions of the Bellagio’s famous water show.

Once in the hotel room, I decided it would be a good idea to take a 20 minute power nap. This short little power nap turned into a full on 1.5-2 hour slumber. I woke up to Thomas saying it was time to go to dinner. Earlier that day, a couple of the guys from the company publishing our eSports magazine wanted to take us out for dinner over at Mandalay Bay. After an awesome steak, some ribs, and too many beers, I have to say they are some of the coolest guys we have met in this business. So cool in fact, one of them is coming out with us again on Wednesday night.

Day 2 was an awesome day. For more on the electronics side, check out Thomas’s coverage post on the the CES side. Consider yourself hardware blogified.
