Next up in the Letters to the Community, Lee talks about GotFrag Hardware's future as FPSLabs.com

Three weeks ago, GotFrag Hardware submitted a letter to the community that announced several major changes to our site that would be taking place over the course of the next year. These changes would include things like new looks and features, among others. Stu Grubbs (Executive Editor), Thomas Gribble (Managing Editor) and the rest of the team at GotFrag Hardware have been neck deep in planning the future of this site. Today, we are excited to announce the first of these changes which herald our future.

Frames Per Second. It is why so many hardware sites exist. It’s why we spend so much of our hard earned money, and it’s why we spend countless hours tweaking every last setting in our computers. As competitive gamers, we always strive to be the best. Unfortunately for us, sometimes skill and teamwork alone are not enough to reach the top level. Having a computer that allows you to play the games you play without any kind of “lag” or stutter often provides that extra boost that allows you to truly be competitive, and it is FPS that we use to quantify that boost.

As part of the GotFrag Network, Gotfrag Hardware is backed by two of the largest names in competitive gaming. Our community scrutinizes every last detail because we aren’t just casual gamers; we are gamers with or without teams that compete not just for the fun and the fame, but for the passion and lure of competition at its best. To compete, whether it’s casually or at the top level, you need the hardware that gives you the best edge. As a network, GotFrag has been covering eSports from the time that it was a bunch of friends talking trash online – in short, since the beginning. GotFrag Hardware was founded two years ago with this perspective in mind, and as GotFrag’s coverage of eSports grows, so will our Hardware division.

So, to the future… from this day forward, GotFrag Hardware is becoming FPSLabs.com. While today it is only a “name change,” what FPSLabs signifies is our deep and ongoing commitment to Hardware, not for the sake of Hardware, but for the sake of gaming like only a competitive gamer can. Over the next year, we will be adding features, cranking out reviews and most importantly, giving you the facts you need to kick some serious ass gaming with the best of the best—all of whom share the same passion we do: eSports.

Over the coming weeks, you'll see us phasing in a variety of things, from a new banner, a new logo and a plethora of other items. It promises to be an exciting time for all of us. Thomas, Stu and the rest of the folks at FPSLabs (GotFrag Hardware) will be here along the entire way, doing the reviews that they have deservedly earned an excellent reputation for, and guiding the evolution of GotFrag Hardware into FPSLabs.

The objective of this evolution, the mission of FPSLabs, is to bring you the best damn reviews with real world tests so you know exactly how it will feel to own that product and not just a bunch of numbers. We have always accompanied any synthetic benchmarks with real world tests for this reason. It is our promise to keep you on the very top of your game without question. We aren’t just your run of the mill hardware site. We are FPS Labs.

Best,

Lee
President, GotFrag.com
