AMD/ATI planning their Direct X 11 road map strategy for 2009.
Via Hardspell: "Rumor Alert: DirectX 10 is still universalizing but currently we got AMD new information: they will launch DirectX 11 in 2009 and below is the roadmap.AMD platform develop plan has expressed that they will provide supports to DDR3 and the graphic card develop will turn to DirectX 11 in 2009. They will also release the third generation Opteron platform in 2009. In 2009 the notebook platform will also provide supports for DirectX 11. So we believe when AMD can support DX11 in 2009 they will upgrade the current R700 to R800, because from the chipset symbol RD8XX we can see it is possible."

Do you think ATIs post-R600 chips will outdo NVIDIAs?
Yes!
