FPSLabs Home: TG3 Deck Keyboard Review

Conclusion
Is it for everybody? No. I would have to say that you need to be a part of a unique niche of people that fit a few criteria: 1) Have a nice computer that you need to apply no further upgrades to for a while, 2) Love highly tactile and mechanical click keyboards and 3) Have an intense need for hyper-response keyboards, like any gamer does. The fact is, we are always looking for an edge and the Deck 82-key keyboard gives you that edge with not only its performance, but its style. One thing to note is that the keyboard was originally priced at $99.99 and it was only recently, within the last year, that they raised the price to $119. While I have no verification on this, I would guess that this was due to some rise in the cost of manufacturing.  Correction: The fire and gold versions have always been $99 and the Toxic and Ice versions have always been $119. This is due to the difference in cost of the different colored LEDs.

There is no doubt that the construction, components, and performance of this keyboard are of the highest quality. Purchases for our computers are investments that we hope will hold their value so that some cost can be recouped when we go to upgrade that component. The truth is, buying this keyboard is a significant investment, but I can almost guarantee that you won’t ever need to replace it.

I would potentially give this keyboard a 9/10. I know you guys are going to throw your arms up in the air, but this rating is described by the following statement: “Product excels at its purpose and is in the top flight compared with immediate competition. Must have impressed the author to achieve this rating.” This keyboard was impressive and is far beyond anything else I have tested thus far in terms of quality. Due to the price, however, I am going to knock it down to an 8.7 for the sake of value. Set this keyboard at a $99 price point and this product is a solid 9.
