FPSLabs Home: FPSLabs Logo Unveiled

We asked, you delivered. The FPSLabs Logo Contest can only be described a huge success. The submissions we received were a virtual tour de force of artistic ability. And now, the wait is finally over.

Hey everyone!

So I am sure you have all been waiting anxiously to see who the winners of the competition are. In fact I know you are judging by the number emails, PMs, and IMs we have been receiving. I really appreciate your patience over the last month or so while we decided on the logo that would represent FPSLabs. Trust me, you weren't the only ones anxiously awaiting a final decision.

During the submission portion of the competition we received artwork that varied from talented to just plain weird. Once the deadline for submissions passed, we took our time sifting through all the logos and nothing was really hitting the way we wanted. We were in a need of a logo that truly represented us. Well, a late submission came through and right away we all knew that this was the symbol for FPSLabs.

Before any cries arise from the crowd, I would like to say that we fully respect the rules we laid down and have no intention of breaking them. We are awarding the tablet to the most talented and sophisticated design submitted between the contests rule dates. In addition, we will be awarding a tablet to the user who designed the logo that will be representing us.

Without further adieu, I would like to present the winner of the actual contest who submitted within the designated dates. Congratulations to Cristina Vicente Maese of Madrid, Spain: You have won a fantastic Wacom tablet.

Thank you to all who submitted! But wait, there's more!

I would also like to thank Phil Therien for designing the perfect logo for FPSLabs. This logo, though submitted late, was almost exactly what we were looking for right from the start. With a few slight tweaks we asked him to make it turned out just right. I, on behalf of the rest of the team over at FPSLabs, proudly present our new logo:

His logo was submitted and we knew right away that we wanted to use the stopwatch to symbolize our publication. As you know, the quest for speed is what computing is all about. We check these speed improvements by timing many things including frames and how many pass our screen in just a second. What better symbol for a hardware review site than a stopwatch?

Again, we would like to thank Phil for his work. Many of you may know him as AZTK, the former Head of the Art Department here GotFrag and now Graphics Director for E-Sports Services. Congratulations to him and that talented brain of his. He has also won himself a Wacom tablet thanks to his submission, even though it was late, as our way of thanking him for providing us with such a fantastic logo.

Lastly, I would like to thank the community for your continued support as we take one more big step towards fully showing what FPSLabs will become.

You can see all of the submissions here.

Sincerely,

The FPSLabs Team

#11 That is the plan for the immediate future. However, the main reason we really really needed a logo was to progress on a site redesign. We've been promised a redesign for ages and it is supposed to happen very soon, though I doubt we will have anything by the promised time. Hopefully before long!
