FPSLabs is live, again, from DigitalLife 2007 in NYC.

The Tokyo Game Show 2007 has ended and I am now in the Big Apple for DigitalLife 2007. Some of you may remember our coverage from last year and you can expect even more this year. A lot of things are going down here in New York and I am looking forward to bringing it all to you.

Today was the first day of the show and already things are off to a big start. Gateway launched the Gateway One, which is an all-in-one desktop computer that is reminiscent of Apple's iMac. We will get a closer look at this tomorrow hopefully with full specs and information. Perhaps this won't be a bad solution for those of you who don't read our site?

Dell launched, after previously denying its existence, the XPS M1730. This is the predecessor to the previously reviewed M1710. This baby is full of new gear including the mobile AGEIA PhysX processor. Stay tuned for a full post revealing all the goodies packed inside this beast.

HD-DVD has made a huge showing with their HD-DVD truck and Blu-ray is seemingly nowhere to be found. Perhaps, I will have to take a closer look to see if this is any indication of the tide of the format war.

Toshiba has a full-on gaming setup with their brand new X205 gaming notebooks. This includes the chance to win one in a Gears of War PC tournament. For those of you interested in entering this tournament that are traditionalists or Xbox 360 fans, you can play with a 360 controller. This editor will be fragging them away with good 'ol mouse and keyboard. As I said, the prize is an X205 notebook that has been customized with the Gears of War logo right on the lid. Did I mention that this baby also has an HD-DVD drive? More on this beast in another post.

iRobot has unveiled some new robots to further usher in the inevitable robotic takeover. Am I the only one creeped out by these things? Don't get me wrong, I would love to not have to vacuum, mop, clean my pool, or wash my car - but I have a slight fear of waking up to one of these robots trying to saw off my limbs. To those of you over at iRobot, create a piece of software that I can use to play games with my Roomba and Scooba. Only then will I buy one, but for now I can just yell at my roommate.

Friendster lives! Seriously, in the face of MySpace and Facebook, I thought that this site had died. Does anyone remember the last time we heard of them that didn't include the words "epic failure?" Didn't think so. However, they may have come up with something useful for those users that stuck with them. You decide!

HP came barreling in right by the front door showing off the DBOX which is a cool interactive gaming chair I will have to try out sometime during the event. More importantly, they had a number of the new HP Blackbird 002 Gaming PCs. I got to see these babies in San Francisco and I have to say they are very sexy. Again, I will share more with you on these in a separate post including some pictures from the recent San Francisco HP media event.

Last, but not least, (so it sticks in your brain) I had a meeting with AGEIA today and the lovely Marti and her guy "Mike" had some very cool new things to show me in their neck of the woods. I promised her I would share them with you and indeed I shall.

A few other things of note that I will talk about in my Day 2 post: Some cool guys I met from Alienware and Activision over at the Guitar Hero 3 booth. Two Gibson guitars being given away in a GH3 tourney. A challenge issued to me by Ravi Sood of HP Voodoo in Rainbow Six Vegas. Nexon's KartRider launching an English version on Tuesday, October 2nd. Logitech in full effect with loads of new products including the G15v2 and the Logitech G9. Microsoft having only one Sidewinder at the event. Oh man, way too much stuff.

Stay tuned for much, much more here from NYC at DigitalLife 2007.
