By switching the graphics cards out and enabling DX10, you can look forward to more amazing graphics out of this mobile beast. The m1730 is the world's first notebook to equip the AGEIA PhysX Mobile Processor which will give you enhanced physic effects ingame. The GamePanel is like the Logitech G15 keyboard screen, but built into a laptop. It iwll giv eyou system specs, loads, temps, game stats and more. Definitely a cool and useful addition to the system. Lastly, I would like to make mention of something I have been asking for since I owned my first backlit gaming keyboard. I used to ask myself why we couldn't make laptop keyboards backlit when the key are so thin it would almost be too easy to do so. Dell has gone ahead and finally done this. The m1730 comes packed with a backlit keyboard as well as the standard LED accents on the sides and top of the case.
Aesthetically, this laptop is leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor with carbon fiber interior and a sick new molding on the top. All the buttons have been redesigned and it really looks nice. One of our major complaints for the m1710 was the lack of a 10-key, or number pad, despite the fact that there was plenty of space. Well, sounds like Dell heard the cries because the M1730 has a number pad included.
At a decent price, this is a great solution for those of you with strong backs and a need to have your desktop system on-the-go. The configuration listed in the above specs runs about $2999, but you can start your configuration as low as $1999.
