Reliability and stability issues? Corsair has an answer for gamers, overclockers and enthusiast high-end system builders.
Via Corsair: "Corsair® www.corsair.com, a worldwide leader in design and manufacturer of high-performance memory and peripheral components, today announced the latest addition to their Corsair power supply lineup: the Corsair TX Series. Inspired by Corsair’s award-winning HX Series, Corsair has engineered the TX Series to be a family of high-wattage, high-performance power supplies that meets and exceeds the most demanding specifications of enthusiasts and performance seekers.

The Corsair TX Series of power supplies delivers optimal performance through the use of advanced technology and industrial-grade components typically found only with more expensive power supplies. With design features, such as a dedicated single +12V rail, the TX Series offers the maximum compatibility with the latest system components. Energy-efficient circuitry capable of delivering greater than 80% efficiency ratings across 20%, 50%, and 100% load conditions make the TX Series of Power Supply Units (PSUs) ideal for high-end PCs using dual-graphics cards for both gaming and professional audio and video applications.

Available in 650Watt and 750Watt models, the Corsair TX Series delivers clean and reliable, fully rated output even at 50ºC ambient temperature. Additionally, the TX Series includes two and four PCI-Express 8-pin (6+2) cables on the 650W and 750W models respectively. The TX Series has been thoroughly tested and is compatible with today’s NVIDIA®’s SLI® and ATI®’s Crossfire® solutions."

In a market filled with copycat designs and superfluous PR specs, Corsair managed to enter the market and deliver a product comparable to higher end offerings and still keep the price at a sane level. Of course it wasn't too long ago that 500 watt power supplies were considered ridiculous but now power supplies are getting so powerful they nearly max out the wall socket they connect to! Of course we won't reach this stage but it does bring into question how many people really need Triple SLI or CrossFireX technology. You certainly don't need either to play Counter-Strike 1.6 or Warsow, so think twice before spending your cash on an additional video card and power supply that would otherwise go towards something with far greater returns.
