Computer Games dont make voilent, lag does.

They are just about on PAR with the q6600 at moment. Hopefully decent competition will drive the price down as AMD has been poor in 2007.

The phenom might be a bit slower. But is cheaper. AMD stated they don't wana get into a high end war yet. This is good.

the point is that AMD launched very low frequencies at launch considering we are in habbit of intel lauching $1000+ cpus first. but AMD are on to something here, may be the black edition Phenom might be the one. but AMD are not intel they release affordabe.

Is the formula= (graphic card)^2?
It seems every year we double the amount of GPU's and CPU's
2 -> 4-> 8 ->... The computer cases in 2009 will be 9 meters high :P (on only GPU's) ghehe

I prefer Intel, but I hope a raging price war will be waged where-by the prices will be the only casuality.

#4 phenom 9500 isnt cheaper than a q6600 in the UK, theyre both �170 or if you go OEM its �160 for a q6600. The 9600 is �200, shocking by AMD nobody will drop their intel setup to go phenom or build a phenom rig from scratch. The only market share theyll get is those with AM2 boards already

another disapointment from amd following hd38xx series. C2D is just too good amd's native quad cant even beat it

#11 is right. AMD's new processor doesn't seem being a threat for intel...

its gonna boil down to whos middle end chips are overclocking better for me. im not upgrading for another 2 months or so tough... seems intel is still whooopinng them

AMD is going bankrupt, and Nvidia is going to buy them out... so goodbye ATI, and AMD... don't invest, performance wise Intel has every advantage on their cpu's, and dominate the new phenom series

#14 there are laws ya know. Against monopolies. Anyways right now as it stands quadcores really arent utilized in games so yeah c2d is better... for now. But how long ago was it that amd were the forerunners with the athlon x2 series.
